If you are looking for a delightful outdoor activity to do on a beautiful day in Massachusetts, you will want to visit the gorgeous Boston Public Garden. Located within the heart of downtown Boston itself, next to the historic Beacon Hill and Back Bay neighborhoods, the Public Garden was actually the first public botanical garden that opened in the United States in 1837. It was created with a Victorian design style in mind, with a focus on the gardener’s art itself.

On our second day in Boston, we were greeted with warm and sunny weather conditions, and decided to make the most of it! (When you travel to Boston during the summer, you can expect fairly warm weather during the day, and slightly chilly temperatures during the evening hours. I would recommend bringing light summer clothing and jackets for traveling to the New England region this time of year.)
As we made our way through the gates of the garden, our eyes danced about taking in all of the vibrant hues of flowers that were laid out before us. Even though there were many different varieties of them, they all seemed to collaborate very well together. Also, you can tell that the individuals working on the garden and design through the early years to current times truly have cared for it. This is evident with the multitude of interesting shapes in the hedges that were nestled in with the flower designs, as well as the general care for the park itself.
As you walk through the gardens, you will also find a lovely water lagoon area where the famous Swan Boats glide effortlessly through. (The Swan Boats have been in operation for over 100 years by the Paget family, and have increased in fleet size over the years.) These vessels have also been inspiration for one of most well known children picture books written and illustrated by Robert McClusky called “Make Way For The Ducklings.”

One of the most adorable statues that you will find as you meander through the area was inspired by this classic children’s book, and is also called by the same name. Created in 1987 by Nancy Schƶn, this original bronze set comes to life as you walk over to it, and the ducks themselves seem as if they are actively making their way to the water lagoon.
Boston has such a rich history in the development of the United States, and you will also find so many historical statues by the paths of the gardens showcasing the individuals that were part of that. Personally, we were really captivated by the quite large colossal bronze statue of George Washington soaring through mid-air as if the horse was galloping through the garden.
When you are traveling to Boston, Massachusetts, I highly recommend that you take time to walk around the lovely Public Garden. It is the perfect place if you enjoy looking at gorgeous flower displays, hiking, and learning a little about the history of the region too! I hope that you are having a wonderful day, and remember to click the like and subscribe button!
-Hiking Boots
The more that we explore new places, the more important it is to wear safe hiking gear, and of course hiking boots. I really love my hiking boots because they feel super cozy, warm, flexible, and of course the most crucial element of all for safety is that they are non slip! When I have gone hiking for hours at a time, they are really comfortable, which is great when you are traveling on the road.

Looks like a lovely area, Allie. I really enjoyed visiting Boston. The line of bronze ducks made me recall driving down Las Olas Blvd in downtown Ft. Lauderdale & having to stop & wait for the ducks to make their way across the road! That memory always makes me smile.āļø
Thank you very much, and that is really sweet! Ducks are adorable!
